
In order to align with the latest educational policies and nurture a new generation of talent proficient in generating innovative ideas and knowledge in technology, EdCity will hold the 25A Student Innovation Competition in the new school year. Drawing inspiration from hackathons, the competition will primarily involve submitting proposals and making online presentations.
- EdCity aims to inspire students through this competition, spark their innovative thinking, and enhance their collaborative skills. It encourages them to apply their technological knowledge to various sectors of society, using innovative ideas to address different challenges.
- The competition also seeks to increase students’ awareness of societal development, allowing them to explore and discuss the challenges they face, and to discover innovative solutions.
- It will establish a platform for communication and collaboration, strengthening connections and inclusivity among students in the Greater Bay Area.


Key Theme: Sustainable Development in Education
- Students should focus on educational and social issues, along with the challenges faced.
- They should consider what methods and proposals can help address these challenges.
- Students are expected to utilize innovative thinking, information technology, and artificial intelligence, collaborating to craft effective solutions for educational and social challenges.
- Students may refer to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to define the scope and content of the issues focused on in their solutions (proposals).

The competition will be divided into three categories:

Primary 4 to Primary 6

Secondary 1 to Secondary 3

Secondary 4 to Secondary 6
The event will also invite schools from other cities in the Greater Bay Area to participate. Details will be announced later.
Team Rules
- Participants must compete in teams of 4 to 8 members.
- Team members can be from the same school or schools under the same educational group*.
- Teams must be recommended and registered by school teachers. There is no limit to the number of participating teams or submissions from each school.
- Submissions must be original.
- Languages for submission: Chinese or English (Presentation can be in Cantonese, English, or Mandarin).
*If the number of teams from the same school exceeds 30, or if team members come from different schools, please email the grouping list and student information to alice.kwan@hkecl.net for registration.

Prizes
- Champion, first, second and third runners-up as well as merit awards in each category.
- Other awards include Best Presenting Team, Most Creative Solution, Active School Participation and Best AI Application, etc. Details will be announced later.
