With limited hours for school libraries, how can teachers ensure that students have access to a wide variety of engaging and healthy reading materials?EdCity introduces the 2023/24 eRead Scheme which functions like a 24-hour library. It allows students and teachers to read subscribed books unlimitedly at any time and from anywhere using a computer, tablet, smartphone browser, EdBookshelf app, making reading enjoyable and accessible.
Four Key Features to Foster a Reading Culture in Schools
1. Diverse Reading Materials
The "eRead Scheme" collaborates with over 50 local and international publishers, enabling librarians and teachers to create tailored "reading collections" from more than 3,000 English and Chinese e-books of varying levels and positive themes.
2. Reading Data Analytics for Teachers
The system provides various reading statistics, such as book download times, total reading duration, and reading counts per book. This helps librarians and teachers understand students' reading habits and progress, allowing them to recommend books based on students' preferences and support diverse learning needs.
3. Flexible Book Recommendations for Teachers
Librarians and teachers can easily recommend great books to all students in a grade or class using the unified distribution and "Teacher Recommendations" features, aligning with cross-curricular reading needs.
4. Understanding Peer Reading Preferences
The "EdBookshelf" app includes a "Top Picks by Students" leaderboard, helping peers understand each other's preferences and creating a richer reading atmosphere in schools.
