Develop Effective Revision Strategies to Help Children Handle Assessments with Confidence

As the new school year begins, assessments will soon follow. Many parents care deeply about their children’s academic performance and have already planned to revise with them. With the right strategies, revision can be both easy and effective.

On 5 October (Saturday), EdCity hosted an online seminar featuring registered teachers Mr Li Man Ching and Mr Fan Pak Shing. They shared valuable insights on effective revision.

They suggested parents to understand their children’s strengths and weaknesses in order to set reasonable revision goals. Additionally, creating a quiet and comfortable learning environment will help children focus on their revision. If the scope of revision is too large, parents can break it down into manageable parts for their children.

Furthermore, making notes, using flashcards are excellent ways to enhance learning, while encouraging students to engage in role-playing can deepen their understanding. Parents were also remined that each student grows at their own pace, so they should avoid comparing their children to others.

Mr Fan Pak Shing shared several techniques to enhance revision efficiency, among them making flashcards is an easy and effective one.

Mr Li Man Ching encouraged parents to appreciate their children’s progress and growth, motivating students to embrace new challenges. It is also good for parent-child relationships.
