Technology can help us solve life problems and improve our quality of life. The Hong Kong ICT Awards 2024: Student Innovation Award aims to encourage students to actively apply innovative strategies and solutions, demonstrating keen observation, participation, enthusiasm in ICT, as well as innovation and problem-solving abilities within five thematic categories. As the leading organiser of this year’s competition, EdCity hopes that students can showcase their talents and collaboratively advance societal development through innovative design.
The Student Innovation Award covers four streams: primary, junior secondary, senior secondary, and higher education. This year’s competition has enlisted over 60 professionals from different sectors to serve as judges. After the preliminary stage, more than 180 teams progressed to the next stage, which took place from 6 to 10 August. The participating teams were thoroughly prepared, presenting their work models and eloquently explaining their design concepts to the expert judging panel. The students’ level of knowledge, communication skills, and capacity to respond on the spot were all crucial factors evaluated by the judges. Judges revealed that the overall standard of entries was exceptionally high, with many students showing keen insight into the needs of society and their surrounding environment. They were truly impressed by the innovative ideas and remarkable creativity displayed by the student participants.
The finalists will be announced on 15 August (Thursday) on the event website, with the final judging set to take place at EdCity on 22 August (Thursday).
