Successful Completion of National Identity Mobile App Design Competition Award Ceremony

EdCity concluded its inaugural National Identity Mobile App Design Competition with an award ceremony on 28 June. Mrs Rita Fan, GBM, GBS, JP, who served as the guest of honour, along with Dr Sylvia Chan, MH, Board Member of EdCity, extended their congratulations and encouragement to the award-winning students.

The competition aimed to encourage primary and secondary school students to explore innovative technologies and design application content that incorporates elements related to our country. The objective was to deepen their understanding of our country’s history, culture, and achievements, foster a sense of national identity, and enhance civic awareness. A total of 191 teams, participated in the competition, representing 89 primary and secondary schools, with over 800 students enrolled. In the primary school category, the championship was claimed by King’s College Old Boys’ Association Primary School No.2 with their project titled ‘Cross-Border Homeland Learning Diary.’ In the secondary school category, the entry ‘Space Exploration Chronicles’ from Pui Kiu College clinched the Champion. Both projects received awards for The Most Innovative Award, The Most Profound Content Award and The Best Presentation Award simultaneously.

Mrs. Rita Fan, GBM, GBS, JP, served as the guest of honour at today’s final award ceremony, encouraging students to continue exploring the culture and development of their country.

Dr Sylvia Chan May-kuen believes that the competition deepens students’ understanding of their country and allows them to apply their knowledge practically.

More than 800 students participated in the competition, which culminated in a final showdown between 10 primary school teams and 10 secondary school teams, all vying for the top prizes.

King’s College Old Boys’ Association Primary School No. 2 clinched The Champion, along with The Most Innovative Award, The Most Profound Content Award and The Best Presentation Award, with their project “Cross-border Homeland Learning Diary.”

Pui Kiu College secured four accolades in the primary school category: The Champion, The Most Innovative Award, The Most Profound Content Award and The Best Presentation Award.

The runner-up team from Sir Ellis Kadoorie (S) Primary School shared their ideas and challenges in designing the application.
